LAS CRUCES, N.M. - Utah State women's tennis fell to the second-seed No. 40 Boise State, 4-0, Thursday in the first round of the Western Athletic Conference Championships in Las Cruces, N.M. at the NMSU Tennis Center.

Boise State captured the doubles point winning the No. 2 and No. 3 matches, as the No. 1 match was tied at 4-4 with USU sophomore Briana Harris and freshman Hailey Swenson battling the No. 54 doubles team of Pichittra Thongdack and Polina Kokoulina.

The Broncos gave up only three games combined in the winning singles matches as BSU's Klaudia Wlodarczyk defeated sophomore Britney Watts, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 3, while teammate Laura Baum won at No. 5 over junior Bridgette Strickland, 6-0, 6-0. Sophomore Marie Livingston fell in the No. 6 spot to BSU's Jana Mackova, 6-0, 6-1, as Boise State was the first to reach four points to end the match early.

Utah State closes out the season with a 7-14 record overall, while Boise State improves to 18-5 on the year and moves on to third-seeded Nevada in the WAC semifinals.
