Utah State Soccer Heads to Eugene to Face Oregon on Friday

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State soccer will pack its bags and head to the Beaver state to face Oregon on Friday, Aug. 29 at 8 p.m. (MT).

This is the second-straight season that the Aggies and Ducks have met, after Oregon beat USU, 2-1, at Logan last year.

The Aggies are coming off a 2-1 win against Seattle on Aug. 24. Freshman Shantel Flanary scored the game-winning goal for Utah State's first win of the season. USU's other goal came off a penalty kick by defender Lindsey Smart. Overall, the Aggies are 1-1 this young season. The Ducks lost their first match of the season to No. 6 Portland, 2-1, last Saturday.

Live stats will be available only for the match against Oregon on Aug. 29 through the women's soccer page on www.utahstateaggies.com, by clicking on GameTracker in the current events box. Aggie fans can also watch the Oregon match live, accessing the link through www.utahstateaggies.com. The cost to watch the match live is either $4.95 or $9.95 depending on your Internet connection.

After facing Oregon, USU will travel to Corvallis to take on Oregon State on Sunday, Aug. 31 at 12 p.m. (MT). The Beavers will first take on Boston College on Friday, Aug. 31 in Palo Alto, Calif. OSU is 1-0 this season with a win against in-state rival Portland State. Sunday will be the first meeting between USU and Oregon State.

Following the Oregon trip the Aggies return home for a pair of home matches. Utah State will face Texas State on Sept. 4 at 4 p.m. at Chuck and Gloria Bell Soccer Field before facing Northern Colorado on Sept. 6 at 1 p.m. Admission to all Utah State home soccer matches is free.
