Utah State Men's Tennis Falls To No. 49 Fresno State In First Round Of WAC

LAS CRUCES, N.M. - Utah State men's tennis fell to the second-seed No. 49 Fresno State, 4-0, Friday in the first round of the Western Athletic Conference Championships in Las Cruces, N.M. at the NMSU Tennis Center. Utah State's senior Jonas Tyden and sophomore Ocsar Ericsson were winning, 5-4, at No. 2 doubles, against the Bulldogs' Denny Fafek and Tylor Leiby before Fresno State took the doubles point winning at the No. 1 and 3 spots. In singles the Aggies lost at No. 3, 5 and 6 leaving the score at 4-0 and the other singles match unfinished. Freshman Jakob Asplund was battling the Bulldogs' No. 88 Mirko Zapletal and the score was 6-6, when the match ended. Utah State closes out the season with a 6-14 record overall, while Fresno State improves to 16-8 on the year and moves on to play New Mexico State in the WAC semifinals.
